Investing in LGBTQ+ Music Professionals: Queer Capita Receives Support from Sony Music Group’s Social Justice Fund

In advance of Giving Tuesday, we are thrilled to announce a landmark moment for Queer Capita that will propel our mission of diversity and inclusion in the music industry forward.

We are honored to have been selected as a recipient of Sony Music Group’s Social Justice Fund that will empower us to provide professional development resources for LGBTQ+ music industry professionals.

What This Means for Our Members

Together with Sony Music Group and The Orchard, Queer Capita will develop a professional development program nationally.

  • This program will take shape as a podcast centered around professional development that is tailor-made for LGBTQ+ music industry professionals;

  • Topics explored will center around networking, conflict resolution, and career advancement;

  • The program will be accessible on-demand for free, with exclusive access to program events and premium content for Queer Capita members.

Giving Tuesday: A Season of Support

Receiving this grant ahead of Giving Tuesday is particularly meaningful. This global day of generosity symbolizes the collective power of community support in driving social change. Our mission to promote diversity and equity in the music industry has always been about collaboration, understanding, and creating opportunities where they previously did not exist.

Looking Forward: Our Commitment to Transformation

This grant is not an endpoint, but a powerful catalyst. We are committed to transparency and will be sharing updates on how these funds directly impact our members and contribute to a more inclusive music industry.

To our donors, supporters, and the entire music community: thank you for believing and investing in our vision. Together, we are rewriting the narrative of who drives this industry, and making it a more equitable place for all.
